How we think about pricing
Pricing is hard to get right. Three principles have guided Tinybox's
pricing from the beginning, and the GA pricing announcement
preserves all three.
Predictability
A customer should be able to predict their bill within 5% from one
month to the next. Surprise bills are a leading cause of churn, and
they are also a sign that the pricing model is broken regardless of
the absolute number.
No penalties for growth
Per-request egress fees punish the most engaged customers most
heavily. We are removing them under 10 TB; above 10 TB, the fee
exists but is small enough that no one runs into it accidentally.
No per-feature add-ons
Every customer gets every feature. The price scales with usage, not
feature count.
